What will people take away from the MLB All-Star Game in 2014? Will we remember that Miguel Cabrera hit a two run homer for the American League? Mike Trout winning the MVP of the All Star game? No we are going to remember that it was Derek Jeter's final All Start start in which he crushed a double down the right field line in his first at bat. Now was it because St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright threw Jeter a softball down the middle of the plate. I know these guys are getting paid millions of dollars to hit a ball with a bat but just because it's the Yankees captain final mid-summer classic shouldn't over shadow the fact that one of the Nataional Leagues best pitcher is giving an easy pitch to one of the games greatest hitters. When your team is counting on you to setting the tone for the entire game and you give a lollipop to Derek Jeter it tells me you don't take this game seriously especially when it means World Series home field advantage for your league. So if Derek Jeter and the Yankees make the World Series you can thank Adam Wainwright.

This is is not just another bump in the road for the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are currently in second place in the A.L Central behind the surprise and red hot Kansas City Royals. The Royals who lit up current A.L Cy Young winner Max Scherzer last night by scoring 7 runs in the second inning now have a half game lead in the central. The tigers slump began when their plane malfunction after sweeping the Red Sox in Boston. Since then the Tigers have gone 9-19 seeing their once 7 game lead dwindle down to nothing. What should there move be? Does management need to be switched? Does Jim Leyland return to the dugout? Should they have a players only meeting? Whatever they have been doing it's not working. If your a Detroit fan I would be strongly concerned. This maybe a championship team on paper but there playing like the 2013 Houston Astros.
